Position Summary: The role of a senior content writer is to develop compelling written and digital content that communicates our services, capabilities and brand voice. The person in this role will plan, research, draft, revise, and help produce communications across multiple platforms. In addition to managing the firm’s website content, the person will develop copy for printed or electronic collateral, social media, and other channels as needed. Experience with website user experience, SEO principles, and keyword research will be a major advantage.
As a senior content writer, you bring a passion for transforming raw ideas into clear, persuasive communication. You are able to distill raw data into a coherent story, and you understand the power of crafting a message for its intended audience. When additional information must be gathered, you are comfortable interviewing executives and technical staff. You bring energy and enthusiasm to your work, along with the ability to develop positive, cooperative relationships both inside and outside the marketing department. As a senior writer, you influence content priorities and collaborate with leadership to ensure messaging aligns with the firm’s broader objectives. You also offer support to other writers on the team and engage in cross-functional efforts as requested. You are well organized and able to juggle multiple assignments at once, meeting deadlines and keeping others informed of your progress or roadblocks. Finally, you are a problem-solver, able to identify and implement solutions to a wide variety of challenges, both technical and interpersonal, to meet the goals of the marketing department and the firm.
Essential Duties and Responsibilities:
- Develop a working knowledge of the firm’s practice areas, service offerings, markets, professional staff, industry experience, methodologies and key service differentiators in order to create content for multiple media channels
- Understand the principles of persuasive and informative communication, including the use of varying styles for different purposes or audiences
- Strategize and recommend appropriate communications to achieve the marketing goals of various stakeholders, industry niches or service lines
- Develop internal content for executive communication efforts, including copy for announcements related to new partners/directors and practice-specific updates
- Support external communication initiatives, including press release development and executive quotes, as well as content writing for external media opportunities
- Research, draft and revise written and/or visual content for blogs, collateral, websites, presentations and other uses as requested
- Edit and proofread content drafts from internal or external sources to make it suitable for the desired use, including familiarity with AI platforms and its strategic use for content development
- Format content by taking an editorial approach that follows best practices for structural/developmental editing or copy editing, as deemed appropriate for the firm’s website or media channels
- Proofread written materials as requested to ensure grammatical correctness, effectiveness and conformance with brand standards and style
- Maintain a working knowledge of AP Style and its evolving guidelines, and apply it to Weaver’s style sheet as appropriate
- Collaborate with team members to ensure content development efforts align with marketing plan initiatives and goals
- Assist with ongoing maintenance and engagement with project management tools, including Monday.com and the content library
- Adhere to the firm’s policies, procedures and core values, demonstrating their importance to others
- Perform other duties as assigned
Corporate Compliance Responsibilities:
Understands and adheres to the policies, procedures and compliance standards set forth by Weaver and Tidwell, L.L.P. Ensures that he/she is trained and evaluated on the knowledge of and adherence to compliance policies and procedures specific to the job.

- Bachelor’s degree in English, marketing, communications, technical writing or related discipline
- 5-7 years of writing or marketing communications experience, preferably with a professional services firm
- Experience with supporting other writers on the team and cultivating their talent to meet team goals
- Excellent writing skills with demonstrated ability to create original content and edit the work of others to meet different needs
- Familiarity with various AI platforms and ability to develop effect prompts for clear, accurate outputs
- Ability to synthesize large amounts of information to extract the key message(s)
- Impeccable proofreading ability; familiarity with AP Style
- Ability to manage multiple assignments, prioritizing tasks to meet deadlines
- Ability to work and interact effectively with partners, directors and manager stakeholders, as well as marketing teammates
- Independence and the ability to operate without direction in areas of uncertainty and ambiguity, while remaining in close communication with teammates and stakeholders
- Commitment to maintaining and continuously improving knowledge of the firm and its service offerings, as well as best practices in communications
- Excellent verbal, interpersonal, presentation and public-speaking communication skills
- Proficiency with Microsoft applications (Word, PowerPoint, Copilot)
- Ability to use excellent judgment, handle confidential information appropriately and display a professional demeanor
- Must be able to sit for extended periods of time and work with exposure to noise at various levels typical of an office environment
- Ability to type on a keyboard and look at computer screen for eight hours or more per day
- Ability to lift approximately 5 pounds on a regular basis and up to 25 pounds on an infrequent basis
- Minimal travel required, primarily between firm offices
