Position Summary:
We are seeking a highly skilled and experienced Lead Engineer with a strong background in the water industry to join our Global Engineering Center team to execute International and Local projects in India. The ideal candidate will have 12-15 years of relevant experience, with a preference for those who have worked in an EPC environment, international project experience and possess a deep understanding of water treatment processes. The role requires exceptional process Engineering and process control skills, including the ability to collaborate with cross-functional engineering teams and coordination with Project Management team effectively.
The Process Lead Engineer will be responsible for contributing to the design and development of water and wastewater treatment plants. They will be responsible for performing detailed process and process controls engineering tasks. The Process Lead will work closely with the Detail engineering, Project Management, sales and business development teams to understand customer needs and provide technical expertise during the detail engineering. They will also collaborate with the Proposal & Applications Engineering team, Commissioning and the NPI/R&D team to ensure projects are completed on time and within budget. The Process Lead will represent Gradiant in compliance with company culture and standards.
Responsibilities:
- Responsible for process and process control engineering.
- Develop detailed process engineering deliverables after contract award.
- Closely working proposal / Application team to receive the as sold documents, technical clarifications, specification package, process design documents, etc. and continue developing preliminary proposal documents.
- Lead developing process and process control documents like Basis of Design, Process datasheet for RFQ, Process Flow Diagram, Mass Balance Calculation, Hydraulic Profile, Equipment Sizing Calculations, P&IDs, Cause & Effect Matrix, Process control, Control narrative / philosophy, Alarm list, Utility List, Chemical calculations / consumption list, and Operation & Maintenance Manual – Process.
- Mentor and train team of process Engineers and P&ID designers
- Closely work with other disciplines (Civil, Mechanical, Electrical, Instrumentation & Automation) to provide process inputs and to receive inputs required for process engineering.
- Participate in the technical evaluation process for vendor selection.
- Review documents from other disciplines and Vendors to make sure process requirements are met in all aspects.
- Lead HAZOP/HAZID/FMEA and process design review meetings with Customers.
- Work with Vendors and finalize package Vendor P&IDs and other process documents.
- Work Closely with Application / NPI (New Product Introduction) / R&D team to make sure Technology requirements are implemented to meet process guarantees.
- Review 3D model process perspective.
- Involve commissioning team as when needed.
- Attend PLC FAT for process controls.
- Prepare Commissioning and SAT procedure.
- Responsible for document submission schedule to meet project delivery on time.
- Prepare resource planning for all the projects and maintain the resource planning bi-weekly basis based on actual progress.
- Responsible for design change log (internal and external changes).
- Assist commissioning team to prepare commissioning procedure and Site Acceptance Procedure.
- Commissioning and warranty claim support.
- Maintain good communication with all stakeholders and provide visibility on direction and results.
- Stay up to date with the latest technologies, trends, and regulations related to water and
- wastewater treatment processes.
- Evaluate current treatment processes and identify areas for improvement.
- Develop and maintain Standard Operating Procedures (SOPs) and training materials for
- treatment processes.
- Project know-how sharing to proposal / application team.
- Prepare man-hours estimation during projects presales.
- Ensure safety, health, and environmental compliance for all activities under their control.
Requirements:
- Bachelor's / master’s degree in chemical engineering is desirable.
- Min12 years of experience in process and application engineering in the water and wastewater industry is required for this position.
- Min 3 years of experience as Lead / Manager managing team of process engineers and P&ID designer / drafter.
- Familiar with various water and wastewater technologies.
- Understanding of membranes and membrane processes for water treatment.
- Excellent analytical thinking, teamwork, interpersonal/communication skills, writing and problem-solving capabilities.
- Applicants must be willing to travel as and when required.
- Proficiency in computer skills like MS Office software, AutoCAD, and 3D model Navisworks.
- Excellent communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to work effectively in a team environment and interact with all levels of management.
- Ability to travel as required for project needs.
