Key Responsibilities : Patient Intake & Scheduling
- Coordinate pre-admission and admission processes by reviewing bookings and physician orders.
- Conduct interviews with patients and their families to collect medical histories and demographic data.
- Ensure proper room assignments, verify patient identification (e.g., wristbands), and explain hospital procedures to alleviate patient anxiety.
Insurance & Financial Verification
- Verify patient health insurance eligibility, benefits, and coverage limitations.
- Communicate with insurance companies to secure pre-authorizations and necessary approvals.
- Identify self-paying patients and notify the financial or billing departments to arrange payment plans.
Documentation & Compliance
- Prepare admission folders and ensure all legal consents, HIPAA forms, and medical records are accurately signed and filed.
- Enter and maintain accurate data within the hospital’s electronic health records (EHR) systems.
- Ensure all intake activities strictly comply with hospital policies and healthcare regulations
Liaison Duties
- Communicate with various hospital departments, such as nursing, billing, and discharge planning, to ensure continuity of care.
- Address and resolve patient or family inquiries and complaints regarding the admission process.
Requirements and Qualifications
- Education: Typically requires a High school diploma or GED; a bachelor's degree in healthcare administration, business, or a related field is often preferred.
- Experience: 1 to 3 years of administrative experience, preferably in a hospital, medical clinic, or healthcare facility.
- Skills: Proficiency with EHR/EMR software, strong medical terminology knowledge, excellent communication, and strong attention to detail
Pay: ₹11,965.66 - ₹42,124.57 per month
