Key Responsibilities:
● Independently lead and manage redevelopment and real estate transactions from inception to completion.
● Draft, review and negotiate Development Agreements, Permanent Alternate Accommodation Agreements (PAAA), Powers of Attorney, conveyance documents, leases, sale deeds and other transaction-related documentation.
● Conduct complex title due diligence exercises and prepare comprehensive title reports, legal opinions and transaction risk assessments.
● Advise clients on redevelopment structures, title issues, FSI matters, MHADA regulations, DCPR provisions, RERA implications and other applicable property laws.
● Independently lead commercial negotiations and provide strategic legal solutions to clients.
● Coordinate with developers, cooperative housing societies, architects, consultants, lenders and government authorities.
● Attend society meetings, developer meetings, client meetings, negotiations and site visits across Mumbai as required.
● Represent the firm in high-level client discussions and provide practical, commercially viable legal advice.
● Handle multiple complex transactions simultaneously while ensuring timely execution and closure.
● Mentor junior attorneys and oversee transaction teams wherever required.
Mandatory Experience and Skills:
● 10–12 years of post-qualification experience.
● Minimum 5 years of experience with a reputed law firm or a leading real estate developer handling redevelopment and property transactions.
● Extensive experience in Mumbai redevelopment projects involving cooperative housing societies.
● Strong expertise in title due diligence and preparation of title reports.
● Proven ability to independently manage, negotiate and successfully close complex transactions with minimal supervision.
● In-depth understanding of Maharashtra property laws, redevelopment regulations, conveyancing practices and applicable regulatory frameworks.
● Excellent drafting, negotiation, communication and stakeholder management skills.
● Ability to manage client relationships and independently lead transactions.
● Willingness to work in a hybrid environment and travel across Mumbai for meetings and site visits.
Preferred Exposure:
Experience in any of the following will be an added advantage:
● MHADA redevelopment projects.
● DCPR 2034 and FSI-related matters.
● RERA advisory and compliance.
● Joint development structures.
● Real estate disputes and arbitration support.
