The Role
Location: Bangalore, Delhi, and Ahmedabad
We are seeking a strategic Senior Manager - Trusts, Foundations & Corporate Fundraising to lead our institutional funding efforts. This is a key leadership position responsible for securing major gifts and managing high-value relationships with foundations, family offices, and corporate CSR departments to sustain our mission-critical work across India.
Key Responsibilities
Relationship Management & Strategy:
- Identify and cultivate a strategic portfolio of 50-75+ active donor and funder relationships.
- Develop customized engagement strategies and conduct regular relationship reviews.
- Design and execute annual fundraising strategies aligned with organizational growth goals.
Fundraising & CSR Engagement:
- Lead the complete proposal lifecycle: from prospect research and concept notes to submission and reporting.
- Negotiate partnership terms and design customized CSR models (grants, in-kind, cause marketing).
- Lead gap analysis to identify untapped institutional funding opportunities.
Compliance, Reporting & Leadership:
- Prepare timely financial and narrative reports to ensure funder objectives are met.
- Maintain detailed records of donor interactions and support audit/compliance processes.
- Supervise and mentor a team of 2-3 fundraising staff.
- Collaborate cross-functionally with Program, Finance, and Communications teams.
Requirements
Experience:
- Total Experience: 6-8 years in fundraising, with at least 3 years at a senior level.
- Proven Track Record: Demonstrated success in securing grants from foundations/trusts (ideally ₹1 crore+ cumulative).
- Sector Knowledge: Prior experience in the Indian nonprofit sector and familiarity with the CSR ecosystem/tax regulations.
Skills & Qualifications:
- Education: Bachelor’s degree in any discipline (MBA in Nonprofit Management or related field is a plus).
- Writing: Exceptional proposal writing and verbal communication skills.
- Technical: Intermediate-to-advanced MS Excel skills and comfort with data dashboards.
- Soft Skills: Strategic thinking, professional negotiation, and high resilience.
