The IB PYP Coordinator will provide academic and instructional leadership for the effective implementation, development, and continuous improvement of the International Baccalaureate Primary Years Programme (IB PYP). The role will work closely with the Principal, teachers, and academic leadership team to ensure high-quality inquiry-based, concept-driven, transdisciplinary and student-centred learning.
Key Responsibilities
1. PYP Curriculum & Programme Leadership
- Lead and coordinate the implementation of the IB PYP across the primary grades.
- Ensure curriculum planning and classroom practices are aligned with IB standards and practices.
- Coordinate the development and review of the Programme of Inquiry, Units of Inquiry, scope and sequence, and curriculum documentation.
- Ensure effective vertical and horizontal curriculum alignment.
- Promote inquiry-based, concept-driven and transdisciplinary learning.
2. Teacher Support & Development
- Mentor and coach PYP teachers in curriculum planning, teaching and assessment.
- Facilitate collaborative planning and regular curriculum review meetings.
- Conduct classroom observations and provide constructive feedback.
- Identify professional development needs and organize relevant training and workshops.
- Support teachers in implementing IB Approaches to Teaching (ATT) and Approaches to Learning (ATL).
3. Assessment & Student Progress
- Guide teachers in developing effective formative and summative assessment practices.
- Monitor student learning outcomes and progress across grades.
- Support moderation of student work and ensure consistency in assessment practices.
- Encourage student agency, reflection, learner profile attributes and ownership of learning.
4. IB Documentation & Compliance
- Maintain accurate PYP documentation, planners, policies, records and evidence.
- Ensure compliance with IB programme requirements, standards and practices.
- Coordinate documentation required for IB authorization, evaluation and review processes.
- Act as the primary liaison between the school and the International Baccalaureate Organization (IBO), where required.
- Keep the school leadership and teaching team updated on relevant IB developments and requirements.
5. Academic Leadership
- Work closely with the Principal and academic leadership team to strengthen the overall quality of teaching and learning.
- Contribute to academic planning, school improvement initiatives and curriculum development.
- Promote a strong culture of collaboration, reflection and continuous improvement.
- Support the integration of international-mindedness and the IB Learner Profile across the school.
6. Parent & Stakeholder Engagement
- Support communication with parents regarding the PYP philosophy, curriculum and student learning.
- Conduct or support parent orientation and information sessions related to the PYP.
- Collaborate with school leadership, teachers, counsellors and other academic stakeholders.
7. Resource & Programme Management
- Identify learning resources required for effective PYP implementation.
- Maintain appropriate curriculum and PYP resource inventories.
- Support planning and budgeting for PYP-related academic resources and professional development.
Qualifications & Experience
- Bachelor's or Master's degree in Education or a relevant discipline.
- B.Ed. or equivalent teaching qualification preferred.
- Recognised IB PYP training/certification; Category 2 training will be an advantage.
- Minimum 5 years of teaching experience, preferably in an IB/international school.
- Prior experience in a PYP Coordinator / Academic Coordinator / Curriculum Leadership role preferred.
- Strong understanding of inquiry-based, concept-driven and transdisciplinary learning.
- Experience in teacher mentoring, curriculum development and assessment practices.
- Experience with IB authorization/evaluation processes will be an advantage.

Pay: ₹1,400,000.00 - ₹1,500,000.00 per year
