Staff Nurse – Operation Theatre (OT)
Qualification
- B.Sc. Nursing or GNM (General Nursing & Midwifery) from a recognized institution.
- Valid registration with the applicable State Nursing Council.
- Certification in OT Nursing or Perioperative Nursing is an added advantage.
Experience
- 0–2 years: Junior OT Staff Nurse.
- 2–5 years: Experience in assisting major and minor surgical procedures in a hospital.
Roles & Responsibilities
- Prepare the Operation Theatre before surgical procedures.
- Assist surgeons, anesthetists, and the OT team during surgeries.
- Ensure the availability and sterility of surgical instruments and equipment.
- Maintain aseptic techniques and infection control protocols.
- Monitor patients before, during, and after surgical procedures.
- Prepare and position patients for surgery.
- Coordinate with the CSSD for sterilized instruments and supplies.
- Maintain OT records, checklists, and documentation.
- Ensure proper handling and disposal of biomedical waste.
- Adhere to NABH standards and hospital policies.
- Assist in emergency surgeries and trauma cases when required.
Skills Required
- Knowledge of surgical instruments and OT protocols.
- Strong understanding of infection prevention and sterilization procedures.
- Excellent patient care and communication skills.
- Ability to work under pressure in emergency situations.
- Teamwork and coordination with surgeons, anesthetists, and OT technicians.
- Basic computer knowledge and familiarity with Hospital Information Systems (HIS).
Preferred Experience
- Experience in a multispecialty or NABH-accredited hospital.
- Exposure to General Surgery, Orthopedics, Gynecology, Urology, ENT, and other specialty surgeries.
- Ability to work rotational shifts, weekends, and emergency duties.
Pay: ₹8,086.00 - ₹44,678.22 per month
