Job Summary:
The Branch Manager will be responsible for overseeing the overall operations, business development, and profitability of the Ludhiana branch. The role requires strong expertise in air freight, sea freight, surface transportation, and customs clearance, along with leadership and client management skills.
Key Responsibilities:
1. Branch Operations Management
- Oversee daily operations of air, sea, and land freight services
- Ensure smooth coordination for import and export shipments
- Monitor shipment lifecycle from booking to final delivery
- Ensure compliance with regulatory and customs requirements
2. Business Development & Sales
- Develop and execute strategies to grow branch revenue
- Identify new clients and business opportunities in the region
- Maintain strong relationships with existing clients
- Achieve sales targets and profitability goals
3. Freight & Logistics Expertise
- Manage air freight (exports/imports), including airline coordination
- Handle sea freight (FCL/LCL), including carrier negotiations
- Oversee surface transportation and last-mile delivery
- Supervise customs clearance processes and documentation
6. Compliance & Documentation
- Ensure adherence to customs regulations and trade laws
- Maintain proper documentation for audits and inspections
- Stay updated with industry regulations and changes
Required Skills & Qualifications:
- Bachelor’s degree in Logistics, Supply Chain, Business, or related field
- 5–10+ years of experience in freight forwarding/logistics industry
- Strong knowledge of:
- Air Freight Operations
- Sea Freight (FCL/LCL)
- Surface Transportation
- Customs Clearance Procedures
- Proven experience in branch or operations management
- Strong leadership and team management skills
- Excellent communication and negotiation abilities
- Good understanding of local market (Ludhiana/Punjab region preferred)
