Job Summary:
A Staff Nurse provides comprehensive nursing care to patients by assessing their health needs, planning and implementing care, administering medications, and promoting patient recovery. They ensure patient safety, maintain accurate medical records, and educate patients and families about health management.
Key Responsibilities
- Assess patients' physical and mental health conditions.
- Develop, implement, and evaluate individualized nursing care plans.
- Administer medications and treatments as prescribed by physicians.
- Monitor patients' vital signs and report any changes in condition.
- Assist physicians during examinations and medical procedures.
- Maintain accurate and up-to-date patient records.
- Educate patients and their families on disease prevention, treatment plans, and post-discharge care.
- Ensure infection prevention and control protocols are followed.
- Respond promptly to medical emergencies and provide first aid or life support when necessary.
- Collaborate with multidisciplinary healthcare teams to deliver high-quality patient care.
- Supervise and guide nursing assistants and junior staff when required.
- Maintain patient confidentiality and comply with hospital policies and healthcare regulations.
Qualifications
- Bachelor's degree or Diploma in Nursing.
- Valid nursing registration/license with the relevant nursing council.
- Basic Life Support (BLS) certification; Advanced Cardiac Life Support (ACLS) certification is an advantage.
- Previous clinical experience is preferred but may not be required for entry-level positions.
