Key Responsibilities:
1. Product Development:
- Develop and innovate new nutraceutical products, including powders, capsules, tablets, beverages, and bars.
- Conduct ingredient research to identify functional and bioactive compounds for formulations.
- Optimize formulations for taste, texture, stability, and nutritional content.
2. Quality Assurance & Compliance:
- Ensure compliance with regulatory standards such as FSSAI, FDA, EFSA, or other applicable authorities.
- Conduct quality tests and sensory evaluations on raw materials and finished products.
- Collaborate with the Quality Assurance team to establish and monitor quality control parameters.
3. Process Optimization:
- Work with the production team to scale up lab formulations to full-scale manufacturing.
- Ensure manufacturing processes are efficient, cost-effective, and meet quality standards.
- Troubleshoot production issues and make recommendations for improvements.
4. Regulatory & Documentation:
- Maintain accurate records of formulation trials, ingredient specifications, and batch manufacturing.
- Prepare technical documentation, including product labels, nutritional facts, and ingredient declarations.
- Stay updated on food safety and labeling regulations in the nutraceutical industry.
5. Market & Trend Analysis:
- Monitor industry trends, emerging ingredients, and consumer preferences.
- Provide insights and recommendations for new product opportunities.
Required Skills and Qualifications:
- Education: Bachelor’s or Master’s degree in Food Technology, Food Science, Nutritional Science, or a related field.
- Experience: 2-3 years] of experience in the nutraceutical, functional foods, or dietary supplement industry.
- Technical Skills:
- Knowledge of formulation techniques for nutraceutical products.
- Familiarity with equipment like mixers, encapsulators, dryers, and spray dryers.
- Proficiency in sensory evaluation and shelf-life testing.
- Understanding of food safety systems (HACCP, GMP).
- Soft Skills:
- Strong problem-solving and analytical abilities.
- Excellent communication and teamwork skills.
- Attention to detail and a proactive mindset.
Preferred Qualifications:
- Experience with plant-based or clean-label product development.
- Knowledge of global nutraceutical regulations (e.g., Codex Alimentarius).
- Familiarity with bioavailability and efficacy testing of active ingredients.
