Wellcare Foundation is a de-addiction and rehabilitation centre in Puducherry providing support and rehabilitation services for individuals affected by alcohol and substance addiction.
We are looking for a motivated and compassionate Counselling / Psychology Intern who is interested in gaining practical exposure to addiction recovery, counselling support and rehabilitation activities.
Key Responsibilities
- Assist qualified counsellors and the rehabilitation team during sessions.
- Observe and learn about addiction counselling and recovery processes.
- Support group activities and awareness programmes.
- Assist with documentation and basic case-related administrative work under supervision.
- Participate in recreational, educational and rehabilitation activities.
- Help conduct awareness activities related to addiction prevention.
- Maintain confidentiality and follow centre policies.
- Support the team in creating a positive and respectful environment for residents.
Requirements
- Students or recent graduates pursuing Psychology, Counselling, Social Work, or a related field.
- Good communication and interpersonal skills.
- Tamil communication skills are preferred.
- Compassionate, patient and responsible attitude.
- Willingness to work with individuals and families affected by addiction.
- Previous experience is not required.

Important
This is a supervised internship. Interns will not independently diagnose, prescribe medication, or provide clinical treatment. Responsibilities will be assigned according to the intern's qualifications and level of training.
