Position: Sales Engineer / Senior Sales Engineer – (For Specifications/Consultant
Approvals)
Location: Mumbai
Job Summary
We are looking for a proactive and customer-focused Sales Engineer / Senior Sales
Engineer with 2–5 years of experience in B2B technical sales of Industrial Electronics,
Electro-Mechanical Products, Electrical Components, Switchgear, Electrical Panel
Accessories, or Instrumentation Products. This role involves developing business
through Electrical Consultants, OEMs, EPC Contractors, Panel Builders, System
Integrators, and Key Accounts while providing techno-commercial support and ensuring
customer satisfaction.
Key Responsibility Areas
1. Business Development
Identify and develop new business opportunities through Consultants, OEMs,
EPC Contractors, Panel Builders, System Integrators, and Industrial Customers.
Generate qualified sales leads through regular customer visits, networking, and
market mapping.
Achieve assigned sales targets by promoting the company's product portfolio and
solutions.
Support business expansion in assigned territories and industry segments.
2. Consultant & Key Account Management
Develop and maintain strong relationships with consultants, key accounts,
OEMs, and EPC customers.
Work towards product approvals and vendor registrations with consultants and
major customers.
Ensure the company's products are specified in upcoming projects and tenders.
Maintain regular engagement with key customers to identify repeat business and
project opportunities.
3. Techno-Commercial Sales
Understand customer applications and recommend suitable technical solutions.
Prepare techno-commercial offers, quotations, and pricing proposals.
Coordinate with Engineering, Product Management, and Application Engineering
teams for technical support.
Participate in technical discussions, product presentations, and commercial
negotiations with customers.
4. Customer Support & Order Execution
Coordinate with engineering and tech support teams for timely execution of
customer orders.
Track projects and RFQ status
Resolve customer concerns by coordinating with internal departments.
Ensure high levels of customer satisfaction through timely communication and
support.
5. Market Development
Conduct market research on competitors, pricing, and emerging technologies.
Identify new product opportunities based on customer feedback and market
requirements.
Share market intelligence with Product Management and Sales leadership.
Support new product launches and promotional campaigns.
6. Reporting & CRM
Maintain customer visit reports, sales pipeline, opportunity tracking, and CRM
updates.
Prepare weekly and monthly sales reports, forecasts, and market activity reports.
Monitor sales performance against assigned targets.
7. Cross-Functional Coordination
Collaborate with Engineering, Quality, Production, Marketing, and Supply Chain
teams to ensure timely customer support.
Coordinate factory visits, technical presentations, product demonstrations, and
customer training programs.
Support internal teams with customer feedback and market requirements.
Qualifications
Diploma / BE / B. Tech in Electrical Engineering.
MBA in Sales & Marketing will be an added advantage.
Experience
2–5 years of experience in Technical Sales, B2B Sales, or Business
Development.
Experience in Industrial Electronics, Electro-Mechanical Components,
Switchgear, Electrical Panel Accessories, Instrumentation Products, Connectors,
Industrial Automation, or related products.
Experience in handling Consultants, OEMs, EPC Contractors, Panel Builders,
System Integrators, and Key Accounts.
Exposure to techno-commercial sales, estimation, tendering, and project sales
will be preferred.
Required Skills
Strong technical and commercial understanding of industrial electrical and
electronic products.
Experience in consultant management and key account handling.
Knowledge of techno-commercial quotations, estimation, and tendering.
Excellent communication, presentation, and negotiation skills.
Ability to understand technical drawings, specifications, and customer
requirements.
Proficiency in MS Office, CRM software, and ERP systems.
Strong customer relationship management and problem-solving skills.
Self-motivated with the ability to achieve sales targets.
Willingness to travel extensively within the assigned territory.
