About the Role
We are hiring Quality Engineers – NDT for our facility in Sri City to inspect welded parts used in train coach manufacturing. The role involves carrying out Penetrant Testing (PT) and Visual Testing (VT) to ensure weld quality and compliance with applicable codes and standards.
Certification Requirements (any one of the following)
- ASNT (American Society for Nondestructive Testing) Level II Certified
- ISO Certified in relevant NDT methods
- EN / European Standard – EN ISO 9712 Certified
NDT Methods Required
- PT – Penetrant Testing
- VT – Visual Testing
Key Responsibilities
- Perform Penetrant Testing (PT) and Visual Testing (VT) on welded components used in train coach fabrication.
- Inspect weld joints for surface defects such as cracks, porosity, undercuts, and lack of fusion.
- Record, document, and report inspection results in line with quality standards and customer requirements.
- Ensure inspection activities comply with ASNT / ISO / EN 9712 codes and internal quality procedures.
- Coordinate with production and welding teams to flag and resolve non-conformances.
- Maintain calibration and traceability records of NDT equipment and consumables.
- Support internal and customer audits related to NDT and weld quality.
Candidate Requirements
- Diploma / B.E. / B.Tech in Mechanical, Metallurgy, or a related engineering discipline.
- Minimum 1 year of relevant experience as an NDT Engineer (freshers with valid certification may also be considered).
- Valid ASNT Level II or ISO / EN ISO 9712 certification in PT and VT is mandatory.
- Prior exposure to welded fabrication, railway coach, or heavy engineering industry preferred.
- Good understanding of weld defects, inspection reports, and quality documentation.
- Willingness to work from the Sri City facility.
