Job Summary
Nexbex Solutions Pvt. Ltd. is seeking an experienced, detail-oriented Database Administrator to join our team onsite in Saudi Arabia. In this role, you will proactively manage, optimize, and secure our core database systems, reporting directly to the Infrastructure Manager.
This role requires a combination of strong SQL Database Administration expertise (monitoring, backups, and performance tuning) and MongoDB administration skills. You will play a vital role in ensuring data integrity and high availability, keeping our platforms highly reliable as we scale and navigate heavy workloads.
Key Requirements (Mandatory)
- Passport: A valid passport is strictly mandatory for deployment and visa processing.
- Mobility: Must be fully eligible and cleared for relocation and onsite employment in Saudi Arabia.
- Experience: Minimum of 4 years of proven experience in database administration, with a heavy focus on SQL Server. Strong experience with MongoDB is highly preferred.
- Education: Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science, Information Technology, or a related field (or equivalent practical work experience).
Key ResponsibilitiesSQL & NoSQL Database Administration
- Monitoring & Health: Oversee the daily health, availability, scalability, and performance of SQL databases and MongoDB environments.
- Configuration & Maintenance: Install, configure, and maintain SQL Server instances, databases, MongoDB Atlas, replica sets, and sharding configurations.
- High Availability & Disaster Recovery: Configure and maintain high-availability solutions, including Always On Availability Groups, database replication, clustering, and robust backup/recovery strategies.
- Patching & Upgrades: Deploy regular database software updates, security patches, and version upgrades to maintain secure infrastructure.
Optimization & Troubleshooting
- Performance Tuning: Continuously monitor and optimize SQL query performance, server load, indexing, and resource utilization.
- Root Cause Analysis: Quickly identify and resolve complex database performance bottlenecks, minimizing downtime.
Security & Compliance
- Access Control: Administer database security policies and manage user access permissions following best practices.
- Data Protection: Implement robust security measures to protect sensitive customer and financial information from cyber threats while maintaining regulatory compliance.
Automation & DevOps
- Scripting: Develop and maintain PowerShell, Bash, or similar automation scripts for daily database maintenance, backups, and monitoring workflows.
Technical & Functional Requirements
- SQL Databases: Expert knowledge of SQL Server, T-SQL, SQL Server Management Studio (SSMS), Always On Availability Groups, replication, and clustering.
- MongoDB: Hands-on experience with MongoDB Atlas, replica sets, sharding, and NoSQL backup/restore strategies.
- Performance Monitoring Tools: Proficiency with tools such as SQL Profiler, SolarWinds Database Performance Analyzer, MongoDB Monitoring Service (MMS), Nagios, Zabbix, or equivalent.
- Backup Software: Proven experience using SQL Server Backup, MongoDB Backup, Veeam, or other enterprise-level database backup tools.
- Operating Systems: Administrative proficiency with Windows Server (for SQL Server) and Linux (for MongoDB).
Certifications & Competencies
- Certifications (Preferred): Microsoft Certified: Azure Database Administrator Associate or equivalent SQL/NoSQL industry certifications.
- Results Orientation: Driven to meet critical business KPIs, ensuring peak performance and database reliability.
- Problem-Solving: Exceptional troubleshooting skills, particularly regarding live data performance tuning and bottleneck resolution.
