Job Summary
We are seeking a highly organized and proactive Transport Coordinator to manage day-to-day transportation activities and ensure the timely movement of materials across various locations. The ideal candidate should possess strong coordination skills, experience in transporter management, vehicle placement, dispatch planning, and freight negotiation to ensure cost-effective and seamless logistics operations.
Key Responsibilities:
- Coordinate daily vehicle placement according to dispatch schedules.
- Arrange trucks and transport vehicles from approved transport vendors.
- Coordinate with transporters, drivers, warehouses, and dispatch teams for smooth operations.
- Track vehicle movement and ensure timely loading, dispatch, and delivery.
- Monitor delivery status and proactively resolve transportation delays or operational issues.
- Negotiate freight rates with transporters while maintaining service quality.
- Maintain strong relationships with transport agencies and vehicle owners.
- Verify transport documents, vehicle details, challans, LR copies, and e-way bills.
- Maintain accurate records of vehicle movement, freight expenses, dispatches, and transporter performance.
- Prepare daily logistics reports, dispatch reports, freight MIS, and vehicle tracking reports.
- Ensure compliance with transportation regulations, company policies, and safety standards.
- Coordinate with internal departments to ensure smooth execution of dispatch plans.
- Support continuous improvement initiatives to optimize transportation costs and operational efficiency.
Required Skills & Qualifications:
- Bachelor's degree in Logistics, Supply Chain Management, Business Administration, or a related field.
- Minimum 2 years of experience in transportation, logistics coordination, or dispatch management.
- Strong knowledge of vehicle placement, dispatch planning, route coordination, and transporter management.
- Good understanding of freight negotiation and logistics documentation.
- Proficiency in MS Excel, Microsoft Office, and ERP/Logistics software.
- Strong communication, negotiation, and interpersonal skills.
- Excellent problem-solving, planning, and organizational abilities.
- Ability to manage multiple tasks and perform efficiently under pressure.
