Director – Cloud & DevOps Engineering
Experience: 15+ years overall IT experience (8+ years in Cloud/DevOps/Platform Engineering leadership)
Location: Bangalore / Hybrid
Role Summary
We are seeking a Director – Cloud & DevOps Engineering to lead enterprise-scale cloud engineering, DevOps, infrastructure automation, and platform engineering initiatives across AWS, Azure, and GCP. This is a hands-on technical leadership role for someone who can architect solutions, drive automation-first engineering, own end-to-end delivery, and operate as a trusted advisor to senior client and internal stakeholders.
The ideal candidate combines deep technical depth (cloud architecture, Kubernetes, CI/CD, IaC, observability, security) with proven experience leading large engineering teams and managing complex, multi-workstream delivery programs.
Key Responsibilities
Cloud Architecture & Engineering
- Architect scalable, secure, highly available, cost-optimized platforms across AWS, Azure, and GCP
- Define cloud engineering standards, design patterns, and platform strategy
- Lead cloud migration, modernization, and transformation programs
- Drive Well-Architected reviews, governance, and cost optimization
Kubernetes & Platform Engineering
- Design and operate enterprise Kubernetes platforms (EKS/AKS/GKE) across cloud and on-prem
- Establish cluster architecture, security, networking, and scaling standards
- Drive GitOps and containerization practices using Docker, Helm, ArgoCD
DevOps & CI/CD
- Define enterprise DevOps strategy and CI/CD standards (Jenkins, GitHub Actions, GitLab CI, Azure DevOps)
- Implement GitOps-based deployment governance, release automation, and rollback mechanisms
Infrastructure as Code & Automation
- Lead IaC initiatives (Terraform, Ansible, Helm)
- Build reusable automation frameworks (Python/Java) for provisioning, patching, and lifecycle management
- Drive an automation-first operating model across the organization
Observability, SRE & Security
- Design monitoring/observability platforms (Prometheus, Grafana, ELK, Splunk, Dynatrace)
- Establish SLO/SLI frameworks, incident automation, and DR/HA strategy
- Embed security and compliance controls into pipelines and infrastructure
Technical & Delivery Leadership
- Serve as technical authority; lead architecture/design reviews
- Own end-to-end delivery , scope, schedule, budget, SLAs, KPIs
- Manage escalations, risks, and cross-team dependencies
Stakeholder & People Leadership
- Engage CIO/CTO/CISO-level stakeholders as a trusted advisor
- Lead and grow teams of Cloud, DevOps, SRE, and Platform engineers
- Drive hiring, capability building, and succession planning
