Senior Manager – Business DevelopmentPosition Overview
We are looking for an experienced Senior Manager – Business Development to lead and grow our sales team in the EdTech sector.
The person will be responsible for overall revenue generation, team performance, sales strategy, target achievement, and business growth. The ideal candidate should have 10+ years of experience in EdTech sales/business development, with strong experience in managing sales teams and achieving revenue targets.
Key Responsibilities
- Lead, manage, and motivate the Business Development / Inside Sales team.
- Set and manage monthly, quarterly, and annual revenue targets for the team.
- Break overall business targets into team targets and individual targets.
- Monitor daily, weekly, and monthly performance against targets.
- Drive the team to achieve revenue, enrolment, conversion, and productivity targets.
- Track individual team member performance and identify performance gaps.
- Conduct regular performance reviews, 1-on-1s, and team meetings.
- Coach team members on sales pitching, counselling, objection handling, follow-ups, negotiation, and closing.
- Develop and implement sales strategies to improve lead conversion and revenue.
- Monitor the complete sales funnel from lead generation to enrolment/closure.
- Ensure proper lead allocation, follow-ups, pipeline management, and CRM usage.
- Analyse sales data, conversion ratios, revenue performance, and team productivity.
- Prepare and share daily/weekly/monthly sales reports and revenue forecasts with senior management.
- Identify reasons for underperformance and take corrective actions quickly.
- Work closely with Marketing, Operations, Academic, and other internal teams to improve lead quality and conversions.
- Support recruitment, onboarding, and training of new sales team members.
- Build a strong performance-driven sales culture within the team.
- Handle escalations and support the team in closing high-value or difficult prospects.
- Develop strategies for customer acquisition, retention, upselling, and cross-selling.
- Monitor competitor activities and market trends to identify new business opportunities.
- Ensure the team follows company sales processes, policies, and CRM practices.
- Take ownership of the overall sales and revenue performance of the assigned business/team.
Required Skills & Qualifications
- 10+ years of overall experience, with significant experience in EdTech sales/business development.
- Strong experience in managing and leading sales teams.
- Proven track record of achieving team and individual revenue targets.
- Strong understanding of B2C/B2B sales, inside sales, lead conversion, and consultative selling.
- Experience in setting targets and monitoring KPIs and sales performance metrics.
- Strong skills in coaching, mentoring, performance management, and team motivation.
- Excellent communication, negotiation, and presentation skills.
- Strong analytical and problem-solving abilities.
- Hands-on experience with CRM systems and sales reporting.
- Ability to work in a target-driven and fast-paced environment.
- Strong ownership of revenue, team performance, and business growth.

Pay: ₹1,000,000.00 - ₹1,400,000.00 per year
