Web Developer & Designer
We're looking for a creative and motivated Web Developer & Designer to join our growing team. This role is ideal for someone with a solid foundation in web development and a passion for modern, user-focused design. You'll primarily work with WordPress and Shopify, while also having opportunities to expand your skills across other platforms and technologies.
Key Responsibilities
- Design and build attractive, responsive, and user-friendly websites.
- Develop and maintain websites primarily using WordPress and Shopify.
- Create engaging user experiences with a strong focus on modern UI/UX principles.
- Convert designs, wireframes, and concepts into fully functional web pages.
- Ensure websites are responsive and perform consistently across devices and browsers.
- Implement and customise themes, templates, and functionality to meet client requirements.
- Collaborate closely with designers, developers, project managers, and clients.
- Maintain website quality, performance, and usability standards.
- Stay up to date with current web trends, technologies, and best practices.
Skills & Experience
- Good working knowledge of WordPress and Shopify.
- Basic to intermediate understanding of HTML, CSS, JavaScript, and jQuery.
- Experience building responsive websites and web interfaces.
- Understanding of modern web design principles and UI/UX best practices.
- Ability to confidently build and customise websites using page builders and theme frameworks.
- A strong eye for visual design, layout, typography, and user experience.
- Knowledge of version control systems is beneficial.
- Understanding of web standards, protocols, and modern development practices.
- Ability to troubleshoot issues and ensure consistent website styling across browsers and devices.
- Strong communication skills and confidence when working with both team members and clients.
- Well-organised, methodical, and able to manage tasks efficiently.
Desirable Skills
- Experience with Magento 2.
- Knowledge of WebSockets and modern JavaScript frameworks.
- Experience working with e-commerce platforms and online stores.
- Familiarity with SEO best practices and website performance optimisation.
