Job Summary
We are looking for an experienced GCP Cloud Architect with 15+ years of overall IT experience and strong hands-on expertise in Google Cloud Platform and Terraform.
The candidate will be responsible for designing and implementing cloud architecture for a large-scale cloud migration project. The role requires a strong combination of architecture, migration, infrastructure-as-code and hands-on Terraform coding skills.
The ideal candidate should be capable of independently translating architecture requirements into production-ready Terraform code rather than functioning only as a high-level architect.
Key Responsibilities
- Design scalable, secure and highly available GCP cloud architectures for enterprise migration projects.
- Assess existing on-premises / cloud infrastructure and define migration strategies and target-state architecture.
- Design GCP landing zones, organization hierarchy, folders, projects, IAM and networking architecture.
- Design and implement GCP VPC, Shared VPC, subnets, firewall rules, Cloud NAT, VPN / Interconnect and load-balancing solutions.
- Define migration strategies such as rehost, replatform, refactor and re-architect based on workload requirements.
- Develop and maintain Terraform Infrastructure as Code (IaC) for GCP environments.
- Independently write Terraform configurations, reusable modules, variables, outputs and environment-specific configurations.
- Implement Terraform state management, remote backends, modules and best practices.
- Provision and manage GCP resources using Terraform.
- Review existing Terraform code and improve scalability, maintainability, security and reusability.
- Work with DevOps / Platform teams to integrate Terraform with CI/CD pipelines.
- Define security, IAM, governance, compliance, monitoring and operational standards for GCP environments.
- Support migration planning, execution, validation, cutover and post-migration optimization.
- Troubleshoot architecture and infrastructure issues during migration.
- Provide technical leadership and mentor cloud engineering teams.
- Collaborate with application, infrastructure, security, networking and DevOps teams.
