Job Title: Optometrist – Camp / Outreach Program
Location: Field Work / Eye Camps
Department: Clinical / Outreach
Job Summary:
The Optometrist will be responsible for conducting vision screening and basic eye examinations at outreach camps. The role involves identifying eye problems, recommending corrective measures, and supporting patient flow during camps.
Key Responsibilities:
- Conduct vision screening and refraction tests in outreach camps
- Perform basic eye examinations (visual acuity, color vision, etc.)
- Identify patients with refractive errors, cataract, glaucoma, or other eye conditions
- Prescribe and recommend spectacles / lenses as required
- Assist in patient counseling regarding eye care and treatment
- Maintain accurate patient records and camp reports
- Coordinate with doctors for referral of critical cases
- Ensure proper handling and maintenance of optical instruments and equipment
- Support in camp setup, execution, and closing activities
Skills & Requirements:
- Diploma / Bachelor’s Degree in Optometry
- Minimum 1–5 years of experience (freshers can apply)
- Strong knowledge of refraction and eye testing procedures
- Good communication and patient handling skills
- Willingness to travel for camps
- Ability to work in a fast-paced outdoor environment
