About the Role - We are looking for a motivated and detail-oriented Accounts Assistant to join our growing UK accounting team. This is an excellent opportunity for someone based in India who wants to gain experience working with UK clients and UK accounting systems.The role involves supporting UK-based businesses with bookkeeping, reconciliations, VAT preparation, payroll support, and general accounting administration.The ideal candidate should have good communication skills, strong attention to detail, and basic knowledge of UK accounting principles. Key Responsibilities
- Bookkeeping and data entry
- Bank reconciliations
- Processing purchase and sales invoices
- Assisting with VAT return preparation
- Supporting payroll processing
- Maintaining accurate financial records
- Working with cloud accounting software
- Assisting senior accountants and client managers
- Preparing reports and spreadsheets in Excel
- Managing accounts emails and client queries
Required Skills & Experience
- Basic understanding of accounting and bookkeeping
- Experience using accounting software such as QuickBooks, Xero, Sage, or similar
- Good knowledge of Microsoft Excel
- Strong attention to detail and accuracy
- Good written and verbal English communication skills
- Ability to work independently and meet deadlines
- Willingness to learn UK accounting procedures
Preferred Qualifications
- B.Com / M.Com / MBA Finance / ACCA / CA Inter or similar qualification
- Experience working with UK accounting firms or UK clients preferred
- Knowledge of VAT, CIS, and payroll is an advantage
