- Designing custom jewelry
- Melting, shaping, and molding gold and other metals
- Repairing damaged jewelry
- Stone setting and polishing
- Engraving designs or names
- Resizing rings and fixing chains
- Checking jewelry quality and purity
- Using jewelry-making tools and machines
- Cleaning and maintaining workshop equipment
- Talking with customers about designs and repairs
