Job Summary
SMV Super Speciality Hospital is seeking a qualified and proactive Biomedical Engineer to manage, maintain, and ensure the safe and efficient operation of all medical equipment within the hospital. The Biomedical Engineer will be responsible for preventive maintenance, equipment calibration, troubleshooting, vendor coordination, and ensuring compliance with hospital quality and safety standards.
Key Responsibilities
- Install, inspect, test, and commission new biomedical equipment.
- Perform preventive maintenance and scheduled servicing of medical equipment.
- Attend equipment breakdowns promptly and carry out corrective maintenance to minimize downtime.
- Maintain and update the inventory of all biomedical equipment.
- Coordinate with equipment suppliers and service providers for annual maintenance contracts (AMC) and comprehensive maintenance contracts (CMC).
- Ensure calibration of medical equipment as per manufacturer recommendations and regulatory requirements.
- Maintain service records, maintenance logs, calibration certificates, and equipment history files.
- Conduct routine inspections to ensure all medical devices are functioning safely and efficiently.
- Provide technical support and basic operational training to doctors, nurses, and other healthcare staff on medical equipment.
- Coordinate with clinical departments to identify equipment requirements and recommend suitable medical devices.
- Ensure compliance with hospital policies, manufacturer guidelines, NABH/JCI standards, and applicable statutory regulations.
- Participate in equipment acceptance testing before commissioning new devices.
- Monitor equipment performance and recommend repairs, upgrades, or replacements when required.
- Assist in planning the procurement of biomedical equipment by providing technical specifications and evaluations.
- Support emergency services by ensuring critical medical equipment is available and operational at all times.
- Maintain confidentiality of hospital information and comply with information security policies.
- Prepare monthly reports on equipment maintenance, downtime, and service activities.
Pay: ₹12,000.00 - ₹25,000.00 per month
