The Area Sales Manager is responsible for overseeing sales operations in an assigned territory, developing sales strategies, managing distributors and retailers, leading the sales team, and ensuring the achievement of sales targets while maintaining strong customer relationships.
Key Responsibilities
- Develop and implement sales plans to achieve regional sales targets.
- Manage and motivate the sales team to improve performance.
- Monitor sales performance and prepare regular sales reports.
- Identify new business opportunities and expand market coverage.
- Build and maintain relationships with distributors, dealers, retailers, and key customers.
- Ensure product availability and effective distribution across the assigned territory.
- Conduct market research to understand customer needs and competitor activities.
- Resolve customer complaints and ensure high levels of customer satisfaction.
- Organize promotional activities and coordinate with the marketing team.
- Monitor inventory levels and coordinate with the supply chain team.
- Recruit, train, and coach sales representatives.
- Ensure compliance with company policies and sales processes.
Required Qualifications
- Bachelor's degree in Business Administration, Marketing, Sales, or a related field (MBA preferred).
- 3–8 years of experience in sales, preferably in FMCG, pharmaceuticals, consumer durables, telecom, or related industries.
- Proven experience in team management and achieving sales targets.
