Job Summary
The RCI Certified Special Educator is responsible for supporting students with special educational needs (SEN) by providing individualized educational interventions, collaborating with teachers and parents, and ensuring inclusive learning practices. The role focuses on enabling students to achieve their academic, social, emotional, and functional goals in accordance with the school's inclusive education policy and statutory requirements.
Key ResponsibilitiesStudent Assessment & Support
- Identify and assess students with learning disabilities, developmental delays, and other special educational needs.
- Develop, implement, and regularly review Individualized Education Plans (IEPs).
- Conduct functional and educational assessments to monitor student progress.
- Maintain confidential records of student assessments, interventions, and progress.
Instruction & Intervention
- Provide individualized and small-group instructional support.
- Adapt curriculum, teaching strategies, and assessment methods to meet diverse learning needs.
- Develop and implement evidence-based intervention plans.
- Support students in developing academic, communication, social, behavioral, and life skills.
Inclusive Education
- Work collaboratively with classroom teachers to implement inclusive teaching practices.
- Recommend classroom accommodations and modifications.
- Promote an inclusive and supportive learning environment.
- Facilitate the use of assistive technology and adaptive learning resources where appropriate.
Collaboration & Parent Engagement
- Work closely with parents to discuss student progress and intervention strategies.
- Coordinate with psychologists, occupational therapists, speech therapists, counselors, and other professionals as required.
- Participate in parent-teacher meetings and multidisciplinary team meetings.
- Provide guidance to teachers on supporting students with diverse learning needs.
Compliance & Documentation
- Ensure compliance with RCI guidelines, NEP 2020, CBSE/State Board/IB/Cambridge inclusion policies, and applicable regulations.
- Maintain accurate documentation of IEPs, assessments, progress reports, and intervention records.
- Prepare reports for school management and external agencies when required.
Professional Responsibilities
- Participate in staff meetings, training, workshops, and professional development programs.
- Conduct awareness sessions for teachers and parents on inclusive education and special needs.
- Stay updated on current special education practices, regulations, and assistive technologies.
- Support school events and activities involving students with special needs.
Qualifications
- Master's or Bachelor's Degree in Special Education (as applicable).
- Valid RCI (Rehabilitation Council of India) Registration/Certification is mandatory.
- B.Ed. in Special Education (preferred where applicable).
- Additional certifications in inclusive education or learning disabilities are an advantage.
Experience
- Minimum 2–5 years of experience as a Special Educator in a school setting.
- Experience working with students with learning disabilities, ADHD, Autism Spectrum Disorder (ASD), Intellectual Disabilities, and other special educational needs is preferred.

Working Conditions
- Full-time position based on the school calendar.
- May involve working across multiple grades and classrooms.
- Participation in parent meetings, school events, case conferences, and professional development programs.
Mandatory Requirement
Candidates must possess a valid Rehabilitation Council of India (RCI) Registration. Applications without a valid RCI certification will not be considered.
Pay: Up to ₹40,000.00 per month
