Key Responsibilities
- Machine Setup: Install fixtures, jigs, clamps, and raw workpieces securely onto the VMC bed.
- Offsets & Coordinates: Establish and calibrate work coordinate systems (like G54–G59) and tool length/radius offsets.
- Program Loading & Proving: Load, test, and run initial trial programs (Fanuc, Siemens, or Mitsubishi controls), executing first-piece inspection to verify accuracy.
- Parameter Optimization: Adjust feed rates, spindle speeds, and cutting parameters to improve surface finish and tool life.
- Quality Control: Measure finished parts using precision tools like vernier calipers, micrometers, height gauges, and bore gauges.
- Troubleshooting: Diagnose and correct minor machining errors, tool wear, or offset drifts during production runs.
Required Skills & Qualifications
- Education: ITI or Diploma in Mechanical Engineering, Tool & Die Making, or Production Engineering.
- Technical Knowledge: Strong ability to read 2D/3D engineering drawings and understand GD&T (Geometric Dimensioning and Tolerancing).
- Controller Familiarity: Hands-on experience with industrial CNC controllers such as Fanuc or Siemens.
- Tooling Expertise: Deep familiarity with cutting tools, inserts, holders, and calculating feeds and speeds.
