JOB DESCRIPTION
SECTION I: BASIC INFORMATION ON THE ROLE
SECTION II: JOB SUMMARY
Responsible for preparation of design drawings for future as well as current projects through-out the project life cycle in line with the company and client’s requirements.
SECTION III: DO – KEY ACTIVITIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES OF THE ROLE
- Prepares specifications/ datasheets for civil/electrical/mechanical works, survey as well as investigation work, conducting preliminary checks and identifying field constraints that would lead to increased cost of execution
- Assists the Design Interface Managers in the determination of the scope and valuation of works packages
- Assists the customer representatives in equipment and site inspections as well as participates in client office visits
- Interacts with the project team/ client representatives to gather details and specifications for drawings
Internal Process/Internal Process/Operations
- Adheres to already established standard procedures, codes, manuals for preparing designs
- Revises and vets all finalized vendor equipment drawings for submission to client for approval
- Participates in site visits for preliminary assessment of site as well as for solving technical problems
- Prepares and compiles all necessary documents for completed projects
- Prepares pre bid Electrical/ Electromechanical/ Mechanical drawings and technical write-ups
- Prepares and submits preliminary drawings( GA drawings, layout plans, SLD, equipment layout, BOQ based on preliminary information available
- Issues cable schedules / interconnection details after receipt of approval of SLD, equipment drawings and control schematic drawings
- Handles issue of specifications, drawings and BOQ to the MMD for procurement of equipments
- Assists in the development of technical design procedures
- Develops new approaches and techniques to achieve continuous improvement in design development processes

- Graduate/ Post Graduate in Engineering or equivalent degree
- MS Office/ primavera/ other related skills
Experience levels required to execute this role
E.g. 2-4 yrs of experience as a design Engineer in infrastructure company
- Minimum 4-5 years of demonstrated experience / expertise in managerial cadre in design development
- 4 -5 years of overall design experience
