Job Title: Production Manager
Location: Sonipat
Reports To: Operations Manager
Job Overview:
The Production Manager in Sonipat will oversee and optimize the manufacturing process to ensure efficiency, productivity, and quality. This role involves managing production schedules, coordinating resources, maintaining quality standards, and leading a team to achieve production goals. The Production Manager will work closely with the Operations Manager and other departments to align production activities with the company’s strategic objectives.
Key Responsibilities:
- Production Planning and Scheduling:
- Develop and implement detailed production schedules to meet customer demand and maximize resource utilization.
- Adjust schedules and production plans to address changes in demand, equipment availability, or other operational issues.
- Resource Management:
- Efficiently allocate materials, equipment, and personnel to ensure uninterrupted production operations.
- Oversee maintenance and repair of manufacturing equipment to minimize downtime and extend equipment life.
- Quality Control:
- Establish and enforce quality control procedures to ensure that products meet internal and external standards.
- Investigate quality issues, implement corrective actions, and coordinate with quality assurance teams to maintain high standards.
- Team Leadership and Supervision:
- Lead and manage the production team, providing direction, training, and support to ensure effective performance.
- Conduct performance evaluations, manage staffing requirements, and foster a positive work environment.
- Problem-Solving and Troubleshooting:
- Identify and resolve production issues such as bottlenecks, equipment malfunctions, or process inefficiencies.
- Analyze production data to identify trends and implement improvements.
- Budget and Cost Management:
- Develop and manage the production budget, focusing on cost control and efficient use of resources.
- Monitor production costs, identify areas for cost reduction, and implement cost-saving measures.
- Safety and Compliance:
- Ensure compliance with safety regulations and company policies to maintain a safe working environment.
- Conduct safety audits, enforce safety protocols, and address any safety concerns promptly.
- Continuous Improvement:
- Evaluate manufacturing processes to identify opportunities for process optimization and waste reduction.
- Lead initiatives to enhance productivity, quality, and efficiency within the manufacturing operations.
- Reporting and Documentation:
- Prepare and present detailed production reports, including performance metrics, progress updates, and any issues encountered.
- Maintain accurate and up-to-date records of production activities, equipment maintenance, and staff performance.
Qualifications:
- Bachelor’s degree in Engineering, Manufacturing, Business Management, or a related field (or equivalent experience).
- Proven experience in a manufacturing production management role with a thorough understanding of manufacturing processes, techniques, and best practices.
- Strong leadership and team management skills with the ability to motivate and guide a production team.
- Excellent problem-solving skills and the ability to address complex production issues effectively.
- Proficiency in production planning software and Microsoft Office Suite.
- In-depth knowledge of safety regulations and quality control standards specific to manufacturing.
- Strong communication and interpersonal skills.
Preferred Qualifications:
- Experience with [specific type of manufacturing, e.g., automotive, electronics, consumer goods].
- Certification in production or project management (e.g., PMP, Six Sigma).
Work Environment:
- The role is primarily based in a manufacturing facility in Sonipat with occasional office work.
- Requires standing, walking, and occasional lifting of materials.
