The Opportunity:
As an Engineering Manager, you will own and drive end-to-end product engineering for global customers. This is a hands-on leadership role - you are expected to be deeply technical, work closely with customers and lead high-performing teams to deliver scalable, production-ready systems.
You will be part of the engineering leadership group shaping engineering excellence, AI-driven development practices and execution rigor at Digit88.
Key Responsibilities:
- Own end-to-end delivery of SaaS / GenAI programs (scope, timelines, quality)
- Translate ambiguous customer inputs into clear requirements, user stories and architecture
- Drive execution across backend (Node.js), frontend (React), mobile (React Native) and data platforms
- Design and deliver scalable, reliable, event-driven, production-ready systems
- Provide architecture leadership; review system design, code quality and best practices
- Drive adoption of microservices, event-driven architecture and modern data engineering
- Mentor teams on AI-assisted development (Copilot, GenAI tools)
- Act as a trusted technical partner; lead architecture, trade-off and roadmap discussions
- Manage customer expectations on delivery, quality and timelines
- Own Agile execution (Scrum), including sprint planning, delivery tracking and continuous process improvement
Build, mentor and scale high-performing engineering teams, fostering a culture of ownership, accountability and continuous growth; hire top talent Track engineering metrics, risk management and issue resolution
- Estimate effort, timelines and team structure accurately
- Guide CI/CD, DevOps practices and cloud architecture (AWS/Azure/GCP)
- Own engineering excellence and quality by enforcing structured logging, standardized error handling, strong observability (metrics, tracing, alerting), rigorous code reviews and shift-left practices (security and testing).
- Drive high-quality delivery through a balanced strategy of automation and manual testing to ensure reliable, scalable and production-ready systems.
Requirements:
- BE/MS in Computer Science or related field with 10+ years of experience in product engineering.
- Strong hands-on expertise in: Backend: Node.js (must-have), APIs, microservices Frontend: React Cloud: Azure / AWS / GCP Data Engineering: ETL, Databricks, distributed data systems
- Architecture: event-driven systems, scalable distributed systems
- Proven ability to design, review and explain system architecture clearly
- Proven experience delivering AI-native products in production environments
- Strong experience in Agile delivery, estimation and program management
- Experience working with global customers (US/EU) in a client-facing role
- Excellent written and verbal communication across engineering, business and customer stakeholders
- Demonstrated success in building and leading high-performing teams
- Strong analytical thinking and structured problem-solving ability
- High ownership, reliability and execution focus; consistently delivers despite constraints
- Strong attention to detail while maintaining a clear, big-picture perspective
Good to have skills:
- Hands-on experience in: Mobile: React Native (iOS & Android)
- Comfortable across multiple tech stacks (Java & Python) with the ability to quickly adapt
