The Mechanic is responsible for inspecting, diagnosing, repairing, and maintaining commercial vehicles to ensure they operate safely and efficiently. The role includes preventive maintenance, mechanical repairs, and troubleshooting engine, transmission, brake, suspension, and steering systems.
Key Responsibilities
- Perform routine servicing and preventive maintenance on commercial vehicles.
- Diagnose mechanical faults using diagnostic tools and manual inspection.
- Repair and replace defective components such as engines, clutches, gearboxes, brakes, suspension, steering, and driveline parts.
- Inspect vehicles to identify wear and recommend necessary repairs.
- Conduct road tests before and after repairs to verify vehicle performance.
- Maintain job cards, service records, and repair documentation.
- Ensure proper use and maintenance of workshop tools and equipment.
- Follow safety procedures and maintain cleanliness in the workshop.
- Coordinate with Auto Electricians and Service Advisors to complete repairs efficiently.
Qualifications
- ITI in Motor Mechanic Vehicle (MMV), Diesel Mechanic, or equivalent technical qualification.
- Additional certifications in commercial vehicle maintenance are an advantage.
Experience
- 3–5 years of experience as a Mechanic.
- Experience with buses, trucks, or other commercial vehicles is preferred.
Required Skills
- Strong knowledge of diesel engines and vehicle mechanical systems.
- Ability to diagnose and repair engine, transmission, brake, suspension, and steering issues.
- Familiarity with diagnostic equipment and workshop tools.
- Ability to read service manuals and technical drawings.
- Good troubleshooting and problem-solving skills.
- Team player with a focus on quality and safety.
Pay: Up to ₹40,000.00 per month
