- A tyre inspector handling warranty claims evaluates defective or worn-out tyres to determine the root cause of failure (manufacturing defect vs. road hazard). They investigate complaints, prepare technical reports, process warranty approvals, and maintain fleet performance data.
- Core Duties & Responsibilities
- Claim Assessment: Conduct physical and visual inspections of returned tyres to differentiate between structural defects, poor maintenance, and road hazards.
- Failure Analysis: Perform scrap tyre analysis to document wear patterns (e.g., uneven wear, tread separation, punctures).
- . Report Generation: Create detailed technical reports for the claims department and justify decisions to approve or reject the warranty.
- . Customer & Dealer Coordination: Communicate claim outcomes professionally to dealers, fleet managers, and end-customers.
- Data Tracking: Maintain accurate logs of tyre performance, mileage, and failure rates to help monitor product quality.
- Inspect tires for defects, such as punctures, cuts, and irregular wear patterns
- Determine if tires meet safety and quality standards
- Use measuring tools, such as tread depth gauges and micrometers, to assess tire condition
- Record and report findings to management
- Conduct visual and physical inspections of tire materials and components
- Assist in the development and implementation of quality control procedures
- Ensure proper handling and storage of tires to prevent damage or deterioration
- Collaborate with other team members to maintain a safe and organized work environment
- Key Requirements
- Industry Experience: 3–5 years of working experience in the tyre, automotive, or fleet maintenance industry.
- Technical Knowledge: Strong understanding of rubber compounds, tyre construction, and failure modes.
- Soft Skills: Conflict resolution, strong written/verbal communication, and reporting skills
- Knowledge of tire manufacturing processes and quality control standards
- Ability to read and interpret technical specifications and drawings
- Attention to detail and ability to identify defects or irregularities in tire production
- Physical ability to stand for extended periods of time and lift heavy tires
- Strong communication skills to report findings and collaborate with production team
- Willingness to work flexible hours and overtime as needed
- Familiarity with safety protocols and willingness to adhere to safety guidelines
