Immediate Requirement
Harsha Institute of Management Studies invites applications from experienced and dynamic professionals for the position of Head of the Department (B.Com). We are looking for a committed academic leader who can effectively manage the department, provide academic excellence, and contribute to the overall growth of the institution.
Key Responsibilities
- Lead and manage the Department of Commerce (B.Com).
- Plan and monitor academic activities in accordance with the university curriculum.
- Ensure effective teaching, learning, and student mentoring.
- Supervise and guide faculty members in academic planning and execution.
- Prepare timetables, workload allocation, lesson plans, and departmental reports.
- Monitor student attendance, academic performance, and discipline.
- Organize seminars, workshops, industrial visits, guest lectures, and value-added programmes.
- Promote research, innovation, faculty development, and student engagement activities.
- Coordinate admissions, student counselling, and placement support.
- Maintain departmental records and ensure compliance with university and institutional regulations.
- Support accreditation, quality assurance initiatives, and other academic responsibilities assigned by the Principal and Management.
Qualification
- Master's Degree in Commerce (M.Com) from a recognized university.
- NET/SET qualification is preferred.
- Ph.D. in Commerce or Management will be an added advantage.
Experience
- Minimum 5–10 years of teaching experience in a Degree College.
- Prior experience as Head of the Department or in an academic leadership role is preferred.
- Experience in handling university-related academic and administrative responsibilities.
Required Skills
- Strong leadership and team management skills.
- Excellent communication and interpersonal abilities.
- Sound knowledge of university regulations and academic administration.
- Ability to mentor faculty and students effectively.
- Good organizational, planning, and decision-making skills.
- Proficiency in MS Office and academic management systems.

Salary
Salary will be commensurate with qualifications, experience, and institutional norms.
Pay: ₹40,000.00 - ₹60,000.00 per hour
