Job Overview:
The CNC Turning Machine Setter is responsible for setting up, operating, and optimizing CNC Turning Machines for the precision machining of the Greens Surgicals Pvt Ltd. The role requires expertise in machine setting, tooling, program verification, and maintaining close tolerances while ensuring compliance with ISO 13485, GMP, and company quality standards. The Setter shall ensure maximum machine productivity, minimum rejection, and adherence to safety procedures. Daily reporting by end of the day to Mr. Dinesh Solanki by CC to Mr. Hardik Suthar and Sr Production staff.
Key Responsibilities
- Set up CNC Turning Machines as per production planning and process sheets.
- Install and align cutting tools, tool holders, chucks, collets, and fixtures.
- Load CNC programs and verify program correctness before production.
- Set tool offsets, work offsets, and wear compensation accurately.
- Perform first-off inspection and obtain quality approval before starting production.
- Machine orthopaedic implants and surgical instruments as per approved drawings and specifications.
- Read and interpret engineering drawings, process sheets, and work instructions.
- Maintain dimensional accuracy using Vernier Caliper, Micrometer, Bore Gauge, Height Gauge, Thread Gauge, Plug Gauge, Ring Gauge, and other precision measuring instruments.
- Monitor machining parameters such as spindle speed, feed rate, coolant flow, and tool wear.
- Perform tool changes and minor program corrections to maintain quality.
- Troubleshoot machining problems related to tooling, fixture setting, machine parameters, and dimensions.
- Reduce cycle time and improve machining productivity without compromising quality.
- Ensure minimum rejection, rework, and machine downtime.
- Coordinate with Quality Assurance for in-process inspection and final approval.
- Maintain machine cleanliness and implement 5S practices.
- Follow preventive maintenance schedules and report machine abnormalities immediately.
- Record production data, tool consumption, machine utilization, and rejection details.
- Strictly follow SOPs, Work Instructions, ISO 13485 requirements, GMP guidelines, and company safety rules.
Required Skills
- Strong knowledge of CNC Turning Machine setting and operation.
- Knowledge of FANUC Controller (preferred).
- Basic understanding of CNC programming, G-Code and M-Code.
- Knowledge of cutting tools, inserts, tool holders, and machining parameters.
- Ability to achieve close tolerance machining required for medical implants.
- Good understanding of engineering drawings and GD&T.
- Knowledge of Titanium, Stainless Steel (SS 316L), Cobalt Chrome, and other medical-grade materials is preferred.
- Familiarity with precision measuring instruments.
- Good troubleshooting and problem-solving skills.
- Teamwork, discipline, and positive work attitude.
Qualification
- ITI Turner / Machinist / Fitter or Diploma in Mechanical Engineering.
- CNC Turning Machine Setting Certification will be an added advantage.
Experience
- 1–3 years of experience as a CNC Turning Machine Setter.
- Experience in Orthopaedic Implant, Medical Device, Precision Engineering, or Aerospace manufacturing will be preferred.
Pay: ₹21,000.00 - ₹30,000.00 per month
