Production Incharge – Underground Fuel Storage Tank
Job Summary
The Production Incharge is responsible for planning, coordinating, and supervising the manufacturing of underground fuel storage tanks. The role ensures production targets are achieved while maintaining quality, safety, cost efficiency, and timely delivery in accordance with company standards and applicable industry codes.
Key Responsibilities
- Plan and monitor daily production activities to meet production schedules and delivery commitments.
- Supervise fabrication, welding, rolling, assembly, and testing of underground fuel storage tanks.
- Ensure compliance with approved drawings, specifications, and quality standards.
- Coordinate with Quality Assurance/Quality Control (QA/QC) for inspections and testing.
- Monitor welding procedures, fit-up, dimensional accuracy, hydrostatic testing, and leak testing.
- Ensure adherence to applicable manufacturing standards and customer specifications.
- Allocate manpower, machines, and materials efficiently to maximize productivity.
- Coordinate with Stores, Procurement, Maintenance, and Planning departments to ensure uninterrupted production.
- Monitor production efficiency, minimize material wastage, and control manufacturing costs.
- Maintain production records, work orders, inspection reports, and daily progress reports.
- Ensure preventive maintenance and proper utilization of production equipment.
- Implement and enforce workplace safety, PPE usage, housekeeping, and environmental compliance.
- Train, guide, and evaluate production supervisors, welders, fitters, and helpers.
- Identify process improvement opportunities to enhance productivity and product quality.
- Resolve production-related issues and coordinate corrective and preventive actions.
Required Qualifications
- Diploma or Bachelor's Degree in Mechanical Engineering, Production Engineering, or a related field.
- 3–8 years of experience in fabrication of fuel storage tanks, pressure vessels, or heavy steel structures.
- Experience in supervising fabrication and welding operations.
Required Skills
- Strong knowledge of fabrication processes, welding, plate rolling, and tank assembly.
- Familiarity with welding standards and inspection practices.
- Ability to read and interpret engineering drawings and fabrication blueprints.
- Knowledge of quality control procedures and testing methods.
- Production planning and manpower management skills.
- Good leadership, communication, and problem-solving abilities.
- Proficiency in Microsoft Excel, Word, and ERP/MRP systems is an advantage.
Job Type: Full-time
Pay: ₹25,000.00 - ₹50,000.00 per month
