- Responding to emergency calls:Arriving promptly to emergency scenes, whether by ambulance or other means, to assess the situation.
- Patient assessment:Conducting a rapid patient assessment to identify life-threatening conditions and prioritize interventions.
- Basic life support:Performing CPR, airway management, and oxygen administration as needed.
- Wound care:Cleaning and dressing wounds, controlling bleeding with appropriate techniques
- Immobilization:Applying splints and other devices to stabilize fractures and injuries
- Medication administration:Administering certain medications according to protocols and medical orders
- Patient transport:Safely transporting patients to the most appropriate healthcare facility, providing ongoing monitoring and care during transport
- Communication:Maintaining clear communication with dispatchers, medical control, and hospital staff regarding patient status and treatment plans
- Documentation:Accurately documenting all patient information, interventions provided, and vital signs
