Key Responsibilities
- Operation & Setup: Operate wire-feed welding equipment, select correct wire electrodes, determine optimal gas ratios, and adjust machine settings (voltage, amperage, wire speed).
- Blueprint Reading: Interpret technical drawings, engineering plans, and welding symbols to fabricate parts to exact specifications.
- Material Prep: Cut, measure, and clean metal surfaces using saws, grinders, or plasma cutters to ensure proper weld penetration.
- Quality Assurance: Inspect, test, and grind completed welds to detect cracks, porosity, or structural defects.
- Safety & Maintenance: Follow strict safety protocols, wear appropriate PPE, and maintain a clean and hazard-free workspace. [1, 2, 3, 4, 5, 6, 7, 8]
Essential Qualifications & Skills
- Technical Training: Formal vocational training, an apprenticeship, or a trade certification (e.g., ITI/NTC) is highly preferred.
- Physical Stamina: Ability to stand for long periods, lift heavy materials, and work in demanding environmental conditions.
- Spatial Awareness: Strong hand-eye coordination and the ability to visualize 3D objects from 2D technical drawings. [1, 2, 3, 4, 5, 6]
Pay: ₹25,000.00 - ₹30,000.00 per month
