About the Role
The General Physician is responsible for delivering comprehensive primary healthcare services to employees at the Occupational Health Centre (OHC). The role focuses on preventive, promotive, and curative healthcare while ensuring compliance with occupational health standards, corporate policies, and applicable statutory requirements. The physician works closely with nursing staff, corporate clients, and emergency response teams to maintain employee health and workplace safety.
Key ResponsibilitiesClinical Responsibilities
- Conduct OPD consultations for employees with acute and chronic illnesses.
- Diagnose, treat, and prescribe medications as per standard clinical protocols.
- Provide first aid and stabilize medical emergencies before referral.
- Assess fitness for duty and recommend work restrictions when required.
- Refer patients to specialists or hospitals whenever necessary.
- Review investigation reports and provide follow-up care.
- Maintain complete and accurate medical records and electronic health records.
Occupational Health Responsibilities
- Conduct pre-employment, periodic, annual, and return-to-work medical examinations.
- Identify occupational diseases and work-related health risks.
- Monitor employees exposed to workplace hazards through health surveillance programs.
- Advise management on employee health, ergonomics, workplace wellness, and preventive healthcare initiatives.
- Participate in incident investigations involving medical cases and provide clinical recommendations.
- Ensure compliance with occupational health regulations and client-specific protocols.
Emergency & Wellness
- Lead medical response during workplace emergencies.
- Coordinate with ambulance services and referral hospitals.
- Conduct health awareness sessions, vaccination drives, and wellness programs.
- Promote preventive healthcare, lifestyle modification, and chronic disease management.
Administrative Responsibilities
- Supervise nursing staff and support clinical operations.
- Maintain medicine inventory and ensure rational drug usage.
- Prepare monthly medical reports and health statistics.
- Participate in client meetings, audits, and quality improvement initiatives.
- Ensure compliance with NABH, company policies, and applicable statutory requirements wherever applicable.
Qualification
- MBBS from a recognized Medical College.
- Valid registration with the National Medical Commission (NMC) / State Medical Council.
- AFIH (Associate Fellow of Industrial Health) or Diploma in Occupational Health is preferred but not mandatory.
Experience
- 2–5 years of clinical experience as a General Physician.
- Experience in Corporate OHC, Industrial Health Centre, Manufacturing Unit, or Hospital is preferred.
- Experience in emergency management and occupational health will be an added advantage.
Required Skills
- Strong clinical diagnostic and treatment skills.
- Knowledge of occupational medicine and workplace health.
- Emergency management and Basic/Advanced Life Support knowledge.
- Excellent communication and employee counselling skills.
- Strong documentation and reporting abilities.
- Team management and client coordination.
- Proficiency in MS Office and Electronic Medical Records (EMR).

- OPD consultation quality and patient satisfaction.
- Response time during medical emergencies.
- Completion of periodic medical examinations.
- Timely submission of medical reports.
- Compliance with occupational health standards.
- Employee wellness program participation.
- Zero major non-compliance during client audits.
Working Hours
As per client site requirements and shift schedules.
Preferred Certifications
- BLS / ACLS Certification
- AFIH / Diploma in Occupational Health (Preferred)
- Training in Emergency Medicine or Industrial Health (Preferred)
Pay: ₹60,000.00 - ₹70,000.00 per month
