Job Title: ServiceNow CMDB Architect
Experience: 10+ years on ServiceNow and 5+ years on CMDB
Job Summary
We are seeking an experienced ServiceNow CMDB Architect to lead the design, implementation, governance, and optimization of the ServiceNow CMDB platform. The ideal candidate will have deep expertise in Configuration Management, Discovery, Service Mapping, CSDM, ITSM, ITOM, and enterprise architecture. This role will drive CMDB strategy, data quality, governance, and integration initiatives across the organization.
Key Responsibilities
CMDB Strategy & Architecture
- Define and maintain the enterprise CMDB architecture and roadmap.
- Design scalable CMDB data models aligned with business and IT requirements.
- Establish CMDB governance frameworks, standards, and best practices.
- Lead CMDB transformation initiatives and modernization programs.
- Align CMDB architecture with the Common Service Data Model (CSDM).
CMDB Design & Implementation
- Design and implement Configuration Item (CI) class structures and relationships.
- Configure identification and reconciliation rules.
- Develop CI lifecycle management processes.
- Implement CMDB health dashboards and data quality controls.
- Ensure compliance with CMDB governance policies.
Discovery & Service Mapping
- Architect and optimize ServiceNow Discovery solutions.
- Design and implement Service Mapping for business-critical services.
- Integrate infrastructure, cloud, and application data sources into the CMDB.
- Define automated CI population and maintenance strategies.
Integrations
- Architect integrations between ServiceNow and:
Cloud platforms (AWS, Azure, GCP)
Monitoring tools
Asset management systems
DevOps and CI/CD tools
Enterprise applications
- Ensure accurate data synchronization and reconciliation across systems.
Governance & Data Quality
- Establish CMDB governance councils and operational processes.
- Define KPIs and metrics for CMDB health.
- Monitor and improve:

Correctness
Compliance
Relationship integrity
- Lead data remediation and cleanup initiatives.
Stakeholder Management
- Collaborate with Enterprise Architects, IT Operations, Infrastructure, Security, and Application teams.
- Act as the CMDB subject matter expert.
- Provide technical leadership and mentoring to developers, administrators, and analysts.
Required Qualifications
Education
- Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Information Systems, Engineering, or related field.
