About Urja Trust
Urja Trust is a Mumbai-based grassroots nonprofit supporting young women (18–35) who have experienced homelessness, violence, or systemic marginalization. We create safe and empowering spaces for survivors to access justice, health, livelihood, and civil rights, while engaging with systems and communities to promote gender-transformative behaviors and approaches. Our work is rights-based, trauma-informed, and guided by human rights and intersectional principles.
Purpose of the Position
The role is to function day-to-day management, coordination, supervision, reporting, and quality assurance of the Community Centre. The role ensures the effective implementation of programme activities, supervision and support of the community team, coordination with key stakeholders, compliance with organizational policies and safeguarding standards, and timely documentation and reporting under the guidance of the Programme Lead.
Key Responsibilities
- Supervise the day-to-day operations of the Community Centre and programme implementation.
- Supervise, support, and monitor community centre staff through work planning, task allocation, and regular reviews.
- Identify community needs, conduct outreach, and facilitate referrals and access to services.
- Ensure compliance with organizational policies, SOPs, safeguarding, and quality standards.
- Coordinate with government departments, community leaders, police, hospitals, educational institutions, and other stakeholders.
- Monitor case management, beneficiary services, documentation, data quality, and reporting.
- Review work plans, outreach activities, and case updates to ensure quality service delivery.
- Address operational issues, beneficiary concerns, and emergencies in coordination with the Programme Manager.
- Prepare programme reports, documentation, and budget utilization updates.
Eligibility Criteria
Education: Bachelor's or Master's degree in Social Work (BSW/MSW) or an equivalent combination of relevant education and experience.
Experience: Minimum 2 years of experience working with women, adolescents, or youth from marginalized communities.
Knowledge: Strong understanding of trauma-informed care, gender, intersectionality, and the structural dynamics of caste, gender, and sexuality.
Languages: Proficiency in Marathi and Hindi is required. Working knowledge of English is preferred.
Location: Mumbai-based candidates are preferred.
