Your work profile
As a Consultant at Deloitte you are responsible to manage, and support enterprise-grade Red Hat OpenShift platforms in on-premises environments. The ideal candidate will be responsible for the administration, security, performance, and lifecycle management of OpenShift platforms, supporting business-critical applications in regulated environments.
- OpenShift & Kubernetes Administration
- Install, configure, upgrade, patch, and maintain Red Hat OpenShift clusters.
- Manage OpenShift platform components including Operators, Image Registry, Ingress Controllers, Routes, and etcd.
- Administer Kubernetes resources such as Pods, Deployments, StatefulSets, DaemonSets, Services, Namespaces, ConfigMaps, Secrets, PVs, and PVCs.
- Perform routine cluster maintenance, health checks, backup, and recovery activities.
- Monitor cluster health, performance, and availability using enterprise monitoring tools.
- Troubleshoot OpenShift platform, application, networking, and storage issues.
- Support platform upgrades, patching, and change implementation activities.
- Implement and manage RBAC, SCC, authentication, certificates, and secrets within OpenShift.
- Support OpenShift networking components including Routes, Ingress Controllers, Network Policies, DNS, and Load Balancer integrations.
- Manage persistent storage using Storage Classes, PVs, PVCs, NFS, SAN/NAS, and CSI-based storage solutions.
- Ensure adherence to security and compliance standards.
- Develop and maintain automation scripts using Ansible, Shell Scripting, or Terraform.
- Support CI/CD and GitOps platforms such as ArgoCD, OpenShift Pipelines (Tekton), and Jenkins.
- Assist application teams with container deployments and troubleshooting.
- Support integration of OpenShift with monitoring, logging, registry, and identity management solutions.
- Participate in production support, incident resolution, and root cause analysis activities.
- Create and maintain operational documentation, SOPs, and runbooks.
- Work closely with Linux, Network, Security, Infrastructure, and Application teams to ensure platform stability.
Key skills required:
- Education-Bachelors in Engineering
- 3–5 years of overall IT experience with 2–4 years of hands-on OpenShift/Kubernetes administration experience.
- Experience working with Red Hat OpenShift Container Platform (OCP 4.x) and Kubernetes.
- Good understanding of OpenShift architecture, Operators, networking, storage, and cluster administration.
- Experience managing containerized workloads in development, test, or production environments.
- Hands-on experience with OpenShift security concepts including RBAC, SCC, certificates, and secrets management.
- Familiarity with monitoring and logging tools such as Prometheus, Grafana, Elasticsearch, Kibana, or Loki.
- Strong Linux (RHEL) administration skills.
- Experience with automation tools such as Ansible, Shell Scripting, or Terraform.
- Exposure to CI/CD and GitOps tools such as ArgoCD, Tekton, or Jenkins.
- Strong troubleshooting, analytical, and problem-solving skills.
- OpenShift and Kubernetes certifications (RHCSA OpenShift, CKA, CKAD, or equivalent) are preferred.
