Job Description – Student Counsellor
Role Summary
The Student Counsellor supports students' emotional, behavioural, social, and academic well-being by providing counselling and guidance. The role involves working closely with students, parents, teachers, and school leadership to foster a safe and positive learning environment.
Key Responsibilities
- Provide individual and group counselling to students.
- Support students with emotional, behavioural, academic, and personal concerns.
- Collaborate with teachers and parents to address student needs.
- Conduct awareness programmes on mental health, life skills, stress management, and bullying prevention.
- Assist in crisis intervention and student welfare initiatives.
- Maintain confidential counselling records and prepare reports.
- Ensure compliance with CBSE child protection and student well-being guidelines.
Qualifications
- Master's Degree in Psychology / Counselling Psychology / Applied Psychology.
- Certification in School Counselling is preferred.
Experience
- 2–5 years of counselling experience, preferably in CBSE, ICSE, IB, or IGCSE schools.
Skills
- Strong counselling, communication, and interpersonal skills.
- Empathy, confidentiality, and problem-solving ability.
- Good documentation and MS Office skills.
