ABOUT THE ROLE
We are looking for a competent and dedicated CNC Machine Maintenance Technician to join our manufacturing operations in Hosur. This is a critical role that directly impacts production uptime, product quality, and machine longevity. The selected candidate will be responsible for the complete lifecycle maintenance of our CNC machinery—from routine preventive servicing to high-pressure breakdown repairs. Working on the shop floor, you will collaborate closely with production operators and supervisors to ensure that all machines operate at peak efficiency with minimal interruptions. This position demands a proactive mindset, strong diagnostic skills, and the ability to make quick, effective decisions during machine failures. The ideal candidate will take ownership of machine health and contribute to continuous improvement initiatives that reduce downtime and maintenance costs.
KEY RESPONSIBILITIES
- Plan, schedule, and execute preventive and predictive maintenance activities for all CNC machines as per established checklists and maintenance calendars.
- Perform regular inspections of machine components such as spindles, bearings, guideways, and drive systems to identify early signs of wear and address them proactively.
- Respond immediately to machine breakdown calls, conduct rapid root-cause analysis, and implement effective repairs to restore production with minimal delay.
- Diagnose and troubleshoot complex faults in mechanical systems, including gears, ball screws, clutches, and transmission assemblies.
- Handle all electrical repairs, including control panels, motors, servo drives, spindle drives, sensors, relays, and PLC-based logic circuits.
- Repair and maintain hydraulic and pneumatic systems, including pumps, valves, actuators, cylinders, hoses, and pressure regulators.
- Interpret and use technical drawings, electrical schematics, hydraulic circuit diagrams, and CNC controller manuals for accurate fault-finding.
- Coordinate with the stores and procurement teams to identify, requisition, and maintain an optimal inventory of critical spare parts to avoid prolonged downtimes.
- Recommend and implement modifications or component upgrades to enhance machine performance, reliability, and machining accuracy.
- Maintain detailed and accurate records of all maintenance activities, breakdown reports, spare parts usage, and machine history logs for future reference.
- Collaborate with the production and quality assurance teams to resolve issues related to dimensional inaccuracies, surface finish defects, or tooling problems that may stem from machine condition.
- Strictly adhere to all plant safety protocols, including lock-out/tag-out (LOTO) procedures, personal protective equipment (PPE) requirements, and environmental safety guidelines during all maintenance tasks.
- Train and guide machine operators on basic maintenance practices, early fault detection, and safe machine operation to foster a culture of shared machine care.
