An assistant bartender (or barback) is the backbone of bar operations. Their primary responsibility is supporting lead bartenders to ensure swift, uninterrupted service. This includes restocking ice and liquor, washing and polishing glassware, preparing garnishes, and keeping the bar pristine.
- Ice & Glassware: Ensure ice bins are full and a continuous supply of clean, polished glassware is available for the bartenders.
- Replenishment: Stock liquor bottles, kegs, mixers, syrups, and napkins behind the bar before and during service.
- Prep Work: Slice citrus (limes, lemons, oranges), make simple syrups, and prep other required garnishes.
Bar Cleanliness & Hygiene
- Sanitation: Clear empty glasses, wipe down bar counters, and empty trash and recycling bins.
- Spill Management: Clean up spills immediately to maintain a safe and slip-free workspace.
- Equipment Maintenance: Wash shakers, strainers, and jiggers in the glass washer throughout the shift.
Service Assistance
- Speed of Service: Assist with making, pouring and mixing basic drinks during high-volume rush hours.
- Running Drinks: Deliver completed orders and mocktail trays from the bar to tables or servers quickly.
Inventory & Receiving
- Restocking: Bring new stock from the walk-in cooler or storeroom to the front bar.
- Stock Rotation: Rotate inventory using the First-In, First-Out (FIFO) method to ensure freshness. Luttrellstown Castle Resort
Compliance & Safety
- Food Safety: Adhere strictly to local health, safety, and hygiene standards (such as FSSAI in India).
- Responsible Service: Keep an eye out for over-intoxicated guests and report them to the lead bartender or manager.
Pay: ₹12,000.00 - ₹14,000.00 per month
