Role : Accessories Designer
Job Summary
Responsible for designing and developing fashion and textile accessories that complement the company's apparel, sarees, fabrics, and collections. The role involves researching trends, creating design concepts, selecting suitable materials and colors, developing samples, and coordinating with production and sourcing teams to ensure designs meet quality, aesthetic, and commercial requirements.
Key Responsibilities
· Develop creative designs for textile and fashion accessories based on seasonal collections, customer preferences, and market trends.
· Design accessories such as brooches, belts, scarves, stoles, bags, hair accessories, potlis, embellishments, tassels, borders, buttons, ornaments, and decorative textile items, as applicable.
· Create design concepts, sketches, mood boards, color boards, and product presentations.
· Coordinate accessory designs with sarees, fabrics, garments, bridal collections, and other textile products.
· Select suitable fabrics, trims, beads, stones, threads, embroidery, laces, ribbons, metal components, and other materials.
· Develop color combinations, patterns, textures, and surface embellishments suitable for the target collection.
· Research fashion trends, textile trends, customer preferences, competitor products, and seasonal themes.
· Prepare technical details, measurements, material specifications, and design references for sampling and production.
· Develop prototypes and samples and evaluate them for appearance, functionality, durability, and finishing.
· Coordinate with vendors, artisans, manufacturers, and suppliers for sample development.
· Work closely with the Purchase Team to source suitable materials within the required cost and quality standards.
· Coordinate with Production and Quality Teams to resolve design or manufacturing issues.
· Review samples and provide modifications or approvals before bulk production.
· Ensure accessories meet approved design, color, size, material, and finishing specifications.
· Maintain an organized database of designs, samples, specifications, material references, and approved products.
· Support new product development and seasonal collection launches.
· Assist the merchandising and showroom teams with product presentation and styling suggestions.
· Monitor customer and sales feedback and use it to improve future accessory designs.
· Ensure designs are commercially viable while maintaining the brand's design identity.
Requirement :
· Experience in accessory, fashion, textile, garment, or product design.
· Strong understanding of textiles, colors, materials, embroidery, embellishments, and fashion trends.
· Good sketching and design development skills.
· Knowledge of design software such as Adobe Illustrator, Photoshop, CorelDRAW, or similar tools is preferred.
· Good knowledge of material sourcing and sample development.
· Strong creative and visual presentation skills.
· Good understanding of product costing and commercial design requirements.
· Strong communication and coordination skills.
· Attention to detail and ability to work within deadlines.
