Key responsibilities
- Customer service:
- Ensure a high level of customer service and satisfaction.
- Handle customer complaints and resolve issues promptly.
- Personally greet and assist guests.
- Staff management:
- Supervise, train, and motivate floor and kitchen staff.
- Create work schedules and manage shift attendance.
- Conduct performance appraisals and provide feedback.
- Foster a positive and cooperative work environment.
- Operational oversight:
- Oversee all front-of-house and back-of-house operations.
- Ensure compliance with company policies, safety, and sanitation regulations.
- Monitor inventory levels and coordinate with the kitchen.
- Manage cash handling procedures and POS functions.
- Performance and reporting:
- Assist in meeting service, sales, and profit objectives.
- Report on daily performance and operational issues to upper management.
- Create reports on revenue and expenses.
Staff and operations management
- Supervise and coordinate daily front-of-house operations to ensure efficient service.
- Manage staff schedules, shifts, and handle last-minute changes or absences.
- Train and guide service staff on proper procedures, customer service, and company standards.
- Monitor and appraise staff performance, providing feedback to improve productivity.
- Foster a positive and professional work environment that encourages teamwork and communication.
Customer experience and relations
- Ensure a high level of customer satisfaction by actively managing the guest experience from seating to departure.
- Handle customer complaints and concerns promptly and professionally.
- Oversee reservations, table assignments, and seating arrangements to maximize efficiency.
- Maintain high standards for cleanliness, safety, and sanitation throughout the restaurant.
- Ensure all staff members are knowledgeable about menu items, specials, and company standards.
Administrative and financial duties
- Coordinate with kitchen and bar teams to ensure seamless service and optimal inventory levels.
- Assist with cash handling, closing procedures, and preparing daily reports or cash deposits.
- Monitor and control operational costs, including labor and supplies.
- Conduct daily inspections and audits to check equipment safety and ensure compliance with regulations.
