Job Role & Responsibilities
Role:
Infotainment system software development, software integration with infotainment hardware, software specification creation, development coordination with supplier & internal stakeholders, software validation at bench and vehicle level, 3
rd
party certification, schedule management.
Responsibilities:
- Lead the in-house infotainment software development team, fostering a culture of innovation and excellence.
- Oversee the full software development lifecycle, from concept to deployment, ensuring high-quality deliverables.
- Collaborate with cross-functional teams, including hardware engineers, UI/UX designers, and product managers, to define and achieve project objectives.
- Drive the adoption of best practices in software design, development, testing, and maintenance.
- Keep abreast of the latest trends and technologies in automotive infotainment and Android platforms.
- Manage budgets, timelines, and resources effectively to meet project milestones.
- Mentor and develop team members, providing guidance and support to ensure professional growth.
- Interface with suppliers, partners, and stakeholders to align development efforts with market needs and company goals.
- Ensure compliance with industry standards and regulations related to software and cybersecurity.
- Champion the integration of advanced features such as voice recognition (cloud and native), navigation, connectivity, and personalized services into infotainment systems.
- Creation of Request for Information (RFI)/Request for Quotation (RFQ)
- Control Spec/Hardware spec/Software spec
- Write, review and execute test cases
- Study of competitors models to identify new features and study for its deployment in MSIL models
- Coordination with allied business partners for development of Infotainment & deployment in multiple models
- Schedule management in-line with vehicle schedule

Competency Requirements
Technical/ Functional:
- Bachelor’s or Master’s degree in Computer Science, Software Engineering, or a related field.
- Minimum of 10 years of experience in infotainment and Android software development, with a proven track record in the automotive industry.
- Strong leadership skills with experience managing and motivating software development teams.
- Expertise in Android OS, application development, and the automotive software development process.
- Familiarity with modern software development tools and methodologies, such as Agile and DevOps.
- Excellent problem-solving abilities and a commitment to quality.
- Strong communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to present complex technical information clearly and concisely.
- Knowledge of industry standards like Automotive Grade Linux (AGL), GENIVI, and relevant safety standards (e.g., ISO 26262).
- Profound experience in Electrical & Software design & development
- Hands on experience in development of Electrical/Electronic components with business partners
- Good understanding on Hardware & Software architecture, OS (AAOS, Linux), HW components (SoC, Memory...), Interface with other vehicle ECUs (DCM, BCM, IPC..)
- Hands on experience of Infotainment CAN stacks, OTA, Hypervisor, functionality implementation
- Hands on experience in creating Requirement requirements for Infotainment (BT, Wi-Fi, Voice Assistant, HMI etc.) from end customer’s perspective
- Profound knowledge on infotainment peripheral parts [Mic, Antenna, Speakers etc.]
- Profound experience for 3rd part certifications (Wireless Android Auto, CarPlay, Alexa).
- Hands on experience in testing infotainment parts at bench & vehicle level
- Familiarity with modern software development certifications like ASPICE, CMMI levels etc.
- Hands on experience of bug identification & resolution for Electrical & Software issues
- Should have a natural zeal to understand technology trends in various cross-functional domains such as consumer electronics etc.
