About the Role: The Tour Guide is responsible for ensuring a smooth, safe, and spiritually enriching experience for pilgrims throughout the Yatra. The role involves coordinating the travel itinerary, providing historical and religious information about temples and sacred places, managing group activities, assisting pilgrims, and ensuring seamless communication between travellers and the operations team.
Key Responsibilities:
Pre-Yatra Responsibilities
- Understand the complete Yatra itinerary and travel schedule.
- Coordinate with the Operations Team regarding accommodation, transportation, meals, and temple darshan arrangements.
- Contact pilgrims before departure and provide necessary travel instructions.
- Ensure all required travel documents and participant details are available.
During the Yatra
- Welcome pilgrims and conduct an orientation before the journey.
- Accompany the group throughout the Yatra.
- Explain the spiritual significance, history, traditions, and rituals of temples and pilgrimage destinations.
- Coordinate temple darshan schedules and ensure timely movement of the group.
- Manage attendance and ensure no pilgrim is left behind during transit.
- Assist senior citizens and pilgrims requiring special support.
- Handle unexpected situations such as delays, medical emergencies, or itinerary changes calmly and efficiently.
- Coordinate with transport providers, hotels, priests, and local vendors.
- Maintain discipline and ensure adherence to the travel schedule.
- Provide regular updates to the Operations Team regarding the progress of the Yatra.
Post-Yatra Responsibilities
- Ensure all pilgrims safely complete the tour.
- Collect feedback from pilgrims regarding the Yatra experience.
- Submit a detailed tour completion report, including challenges faced and suggestions for improvement.
- Report any incidents, complaints, or operational issues.
Required Skills
- Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.
- Strong knowledge of Hindu temples, pilgrimage destinations, traditions, and cultural heritage.
- Ability to speak English, Hindi, and regional languages (Kannada, Telugu, Tamil, etc.) is preferred.
- Strong leadership and group management skills.
- Problem-solving and decision-making abilities.
- Time management and organizational skills.
- Ability to remain calm under pressure.
- Customer service orientation with a compassionate approach.
Educational Qualification
- Bachelor's degree in any discipline (preferred).
- Certification in Tourism, Hospitality, or Tour Guiding is an added advantage.
Experience
- 1–5 years of experience in tour operations, pilgrimage management, hospitality, or travel coordination.
- Freshers with excellent communication skills and a strong interest in spiritual tourism may also apply.
Travel Requirements
- Willingness to travel extensively across India.
- Ability to stay with the group throughout the Yatra, including weekends and holidays.

- Successful completion of assigned Yatras.
- Pilgrim satisfaction and feedback ratings.
- Adherence to itinerary and schedules.
- Effective handling of emergencies and operational issues.
- Timely submission of tour reports.
- Minimal customer complaints and high service quality.

Pay: ₹25,000.00 - ₹35,000.00 per month
