Knowledge Resource Centre
Knowledge Resource Centre (KRC) is a network of people and libraries and its aim is to enable knowledge exchange within and outside the Azim Premji Foundation. The University library, which is part of KRC, has the primary objective of catering to the information and knowledge needs of University Students, Faculty, Scholars and civil society partners of the University.
Qualification & Experience
- Masters in Library and Information Science
- Five years’ experience in a reputed research or academic institution in India.
- Relevant exposure or experience in working with voluntary organizations, government and other purely non-academic institutions (Desirable)
Job Description
- To support the overall development of the library.
- To make a strategic plan to acquire collections through purchases and special acquisitions both in Print on paper as well e-resources.
- Skills on negotiation with vendors and publishers for library resources.
- To plan and conduct tailor-made workshops for users.
- To provide research support services to the user community.
- Overall knowledge of IT systems including familiarity with library IT packages and systems.
- To develop the library’s on-line presence to promote the service and collections.
- Working knowledge of LMS software (Koha), digital library software’s (DSpace and EPrints).
Abilities, Skills, and Knowledge
- General knowledge of roles & responsibilities in all academic/Community library services.
- Evidence of ongoing professional development, participation, and contributions (preferred).
- Willing to take new initiatives voluntarily or/and on the requirement by the university.
- Working knowledge in the Archives (desirable)
- Excellent communication skills in English, both oral and written
