Business Unit Head – Diagnostics (Kurla)

About the Role
NDC Diagnostic Centre Pvt. Ltd. is looking for an experienced and entrepreneurial Business Unit Head to lead and scale our Kurla diagnostic centre. The centre houses a fully operational pathology laboratory within Criticare Asia Hospital and also caters to a growing external patient and referral network.
This is not a conventional Centre Manager role. We are looking for a business leader with an entrepreneurial mindset who can build, scale, and grow a high-potential diagnostics business. You will own the complete Profit & Loss (P&L) of the business unit and be responsible for revenue growth, profitability, strategic partnerships, operational excellence, and expansion.
The primary objective of this role is to aggressively grow the business by developing B2B partnerships, expanding referral networks, and creating new revenue streams.
Key Responsibilities
- Drive revenue growth through hospitals, clinics, nursing homes, doctors, collection centres, corporate accounts, and diagnostic centre partnerships.
- Develop and execute a comprehensive business development strategy to significantly increase referral volumes.
- Identify, negotiate, and close strategic B2B partnerships with hospitals, diagnostic centres, healthcare institutions, and corporate clients.
- Build and maintain strong relationships with doctors, hospital administrators, and key healthcare stakeholders.
- Identify and establish new collection centres and expand the centre's market presence across Mumbai.
- Manage the overall operations of the Kurla centre, ensuring high standards of service, quality, turnaround time, and customer satisfaction.
- Lead, mentor, and manage the centre team while driving a high-performance culture.
- Take ownership of the centre's profitability by monitoring revenue, expenses, productivity, and operational efficiency.
- Ensure timely reporting, compliance with quality standards, and achievement of business targets.
- Collaborate with senior management to identify and execute new growth opportunities.
Required Qualifications & Experience
- Bachelor's degree required; MBA or equivalent management qualification preferred.
- Minimum 8 years of experience in Diagnostics, Pathology, Hospitals, Healthcare Services, Medical Devices, Pharmaceutical Sales, or Healthcare Business Development.
- Proven track record of driving revenue growth, developing B2B partnerships, and managing healthcare operations.
- Strong network within the Mumbai healthcare ecosystem will be a significant advantage.
- Excellent leadership, negotiation, communication, and relationship management skills.
- Strong commercial acumen with the ability to independently own and grow a business unit.
