Job Summary
We are hiring a Powder Coating Operator to handle surface preparation, coating application, and quality inspection of metal parts. Freshers with ITI in Fitter/Turner/Welder or candidates with manufacturing experience are welcome. On-the-job training will be provided.
Key Responsibilities
Surface Preparation – First 90 Days
- Degreasing, de-rusting, and phosphating of parts as per work instructions
- Hanging/racking jobs on conveyor line and ensuring secure fixturing
- Masking and unmasking critical areas to prevent coating
- Maintaining pre-treatment chemical baths and reporting titration issues to supervisor
Powder Coating Application – Post Training
- Operating manual/auto powder coating guns and setting spray parameters
- Changing powder colors and ensuring correct powder is used as per job card
- Applying uniform coating and checking for coverage, orange peel, pinholes, and contamination
- Loading/unloading parts to/from curing oven and monitoring temperature/time as per TDS
Quality & Safety
- Basic visual inspection for defects before packing
- Checking dry film thickness using DFT gauge
- Following PPE, safety SOPs, and 5S housekeeping on shop floor
- Reporting defects, breakdowns, and consumable shortages to Powder Coating Supervisor
Requirements
Must Have
- 10th pass minimum
- ITI in Fitter/Turner/Welder or Diploma in Mechanical/Chemical preferred
- Ability to stand for 8–10 hours and lift 20–25 kg
- Basic reading ability for job cards and work instructions
- Reliable attendance and discipline
Good to Have
- Prior experience in powder coating, painting, electroplating, or manufacturing
- Knowledge of pre-treatment chemicals and safety protocols
- Familiarity with basic quality tools
Compensation & Benefits
- Salary: ₹18,000 – ₹28,000/month in-hand, based on experience and skill level
